Welcome to the internet

This site is really a placeholder on a domain that I primarily use for my e-mail server. It occurs to me, however, that I have the bandwidth and hardware to run a small webserver, so why not?

I guess I should tell you a bit about me. Professionally, I work for a software company in the client support department. I do a lot of custom database work (writing triggers, stored procedures), a little development (writing custom utilities), some project management (transistioning new products in to our department), a little implementation, and I work a lot with management and other departments to ensure quality and consistency (read: many meetings...). It is a lot of hat-changing but I get a lot of flexibility and get to work in a booming industry. I am sure you are enamored.

Outside of work, I am a hobbiest programmer and general geek. Some of my interests are science, math, computers (specifically programming, hardware hacking, microcontrollers, SQL, GNU/Linux), and Learning - I'm always trying to learn something new. My opinion is that continued self-guided learning, tinkering, and exploration are the most important things I can do for myself. Also, I have a thing for big or fast vehicles like tanks, ships, airplanes, sportbikes, sports cars, trains, et cetera.
